Right, I'm not entirely sure how I did this, but I was working in Microsoft Word and hit something I didn't mean to, and now JAWS is reading every space marker and paragraph narker in the entire document. It's not doing it on the web or in a previous document I'd created, but it's doing it in every document I've created since I made the blunder. This space marker is space marker annoying! lol
Not sure but it sounds like you turned on that feature in word that visually shows you on the screen where all your spaces line breaks paragraph and etc are. I can't remember the name of it and i never got around to reinstalling office after my last install but if you can figure out what that feature is and turn it off that should fix it. Its usually under the format or tools menu if memory serves correct.
I used to use MS Word every day at work, and I do remember there was a command for turning on paragraph markers, space markers, etc., but I can't remember what it is because I never used it. Try alt o for getting into formatting, or alt t for tools. If nothing else, a sighted friend or family member might be able to look at the screen for you and see how to get rid of those things.
try pressing shift control and number row 8, this is the keystroke in word to show or hide mark up.
Oooh, yeah, that's it. I just opened a Word document and tried it. Doing it again toggles the feature back off.
Just bringing this back up to the top so the person who asked the question can see she got an answer. I know it will be buried again by all the stupid stuff from unfriendly philosophical Rachel.
Uh, well, ok back to the top.

Thanks everyone, and lol Becky.
